Micron Optics is currently
seeking:
An embedded software developer
who will design, develop, operate, and maintain software
and firmware components and computing systems software to
be applied to and integrated with engineering, manufacturing,
and end user requirements. The successful applicant will
apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures,
and tools throughout the system development life cycle to
support the generation of industrial grade measurement equipment
and user interface software. The position will require working
as part of a software development team and a willingness
to provide customer technical support, when needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Master's Degree in Electrical or other Engineering
-4 to 6 years of industry experience in embedded system
firmware development
-Embedded OS (Linux) experience
-Embedded C/C++ programming
-Knowledge of and experience developing low-level device
drivers. Examples: flash drivers, serial
drivers, USB, TCP/IP and related networking drivers
-Experience with LabVIEW strongly preferred
-Experience testing and troubleshooting on hardware platforms
is required. Must be able to develop and execute low level test procedures. Knowledge
in developing desktop simulations to facilitate low level testing is preferred
-Good communication and documentation skills
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS:
-FPGA experience, including familiarity with Verilog and/or
VHDL & Xilinx and/or Altera
-Java, Visual Basic, Visual C++
-Some familiarity with fiber optics, piezoelectric transducers,
and/or lasers a plus
-Experience working with hardware and manufacturing teams
to bring projects fully to market
-Comfort with hardware: read and use schematics effectively,
use test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer,
etc.)
